Bit of history: Coco Chanel could be counted on for exotic accessories found nowhere else—not just in design, but also in the use of materials. was well known for using unique materials accessories in her design. The original 1930s Chanel necklace used glass filled with stones made from the paving blocks from the streets of Paris in the hexagon panels when the street in front of her boutique was being torn up. The stones were hammered into smaller stones and then embedded in broken wine bottle glass. They were cooled and polished, then included in a very rare and exotic necklace. This necklace is inspired by that original, rare and extremely expensive design.
